About Us
Established in 2019, Just The Right Amount, LLC exists to provide scholarship coaching and professional development consulting services to college-bound students within the Chicagoland area and beyond. We are a student-oriented entity whose main goal is to help students leverage their academic and extracurricular profiles to best finance their education. We specialize in assisting students as they seek to fund their college education while incurring minimal debt. Our services span from strategic 1:1 college application planning and career development coaching to community and corporate scholarship consulting via workshops and group sessions. Our Mission / Vision
Mission Statement: The mission of Just The Right Amount, LLC is to provide knowledge and expertise on the scholarship process to those looking to attend colleges and universities. We aim to ensure that our clients leverage their academic and extracurricular profiles to graduate from their desired college or university with little to no student loan debt.
Vision Statement: To foster a vibrant debt-free student community by empowering each of our clients to finance their post-secondary education with scholarship dollars.
Our Founder
Kevin B. Banks Jr.

Just The Right Amount, LLC was founded by Kevin B. Banks Jr., after realizing that there was a need for greater education around scholarships. The inspiration for the business came while taking an entrepreneurship class at the Milwaukee School of Engineering. He used the concept for the business as a class project after having already assisted other students and their families with the scholarship application process. Channeling the passion he developed while completing that project, he founded Just The Right Amount, LLC with an emphasis on helping black and brown students minimize their student loan debt by applying for non-institutional scholarships to finance their college education.

Kevin is a trained Biomedical Engineer, having received his undergraduate degree from the Milwaukee School of Engineering in 2018. He is the recipient of multiple scholarships and awards, many of which he has used to fund his own collegiate education. Both a Westside of Chicago native and current Southside resident, Kevin is a proud Chicagoan, avid community leader, and strong advocate for education and Chicago youth. He is a Chicago Scholars alum, where he currently serves as an active member of the Alumni Leadership Association (ALA). He also served as the 2018-2019 Regional Chair and succeeding Chair Emeritus for the 4th National/International Region under the National Society of Black Engineers. Kevin now serves as a junior board member for the Chicago Engineers Foundation, and continues to serve as a mentor to various students and young professionals alike.
